Our MRS/HPI team recently joined the Operation Flinders Foundation and completed the City to Summit 20km trek!
Setting off from the Adelaide CBD, our team made its way through suburbia and up into the magnificent Adelaide Hills. Led by Operation Flinders Team Leader Wayne Enright and Operation Flinders team member Tilly, Wayne and Tilly superbly guided our team along the walk and dropped in some games along the way, which provided for a fun journey!
Once our team reached Mt Lofty Summit, they made their way to Woodhouse Activity Centre where a warm paella dinner was enjoyed and we were fortunate to hear from inspirational, key note speaker Katrina Webb OAM, talking about her experiences in facing adversity and triumphing.
Our team is proud to have raised much needed funds for this event which go towards transforming the lives of young people. We would also like to acknowledge young Tilly who supported us on the trek, Tilly is an absolute inspiration having recently completed the Kokoda Trail, a wonderful achievement for such a young person!
We offer our thanks and appreciation to Wayne and Tilly for their support on the day and the whole Operation Flinders Foundation led by David Wark, for their efforts in putting on such a great event which our team is grateful to have been be a part of – we look forward to trek 2024!!
