MRS Annual Step Challenge | Wellness Program

Our Wellness Program launched in March 2021, designed to promote healthy behaviours among employees and enhance overall wellbeing. Over the course of six weeks with a focus on Physical Fitness, the office split into three teams, Madagascar, Mauritania and Mexico, to compete for the title of MRS Step Challenge Champions.

The 2025 Step Challenge marked a special milestone as we celebrated our fifth year of bringing people together to move, connect and build healthier habits. This year’s theme was Resilience and our teams embodied that spirit from start to finish. Alongside the challenge, staff also had the opportunity to join yoga and meditation classes, reinforcing the importance of both physical and mental wellbeing.

We were thrilled to welcome 54 participants, including 16 first-timers, the highest number of new participants since the challenge started. Our teams truly went global, with steps being logged from Sydney, Bali, New Zealand, London, Venice and Barcelona. No matter where people were located, everyone contributed to an incredible collective effort.

Together, we recorded 22,003,417 steps, covering 16,766 kilometres , roughly the same distance as flying from Melbourne to New York. It was an outstanding achievement from all teams involved. In the final tally, Team Madagascar came out on top with 7,911 points, followed by Team Mexico with 7,297 and Team Mauritania with 6,755 points. Special recognition goes to Alastair Butterworth, Miriam Dabbs and Luke De Conno, who consistently increased their steps each week, showing real dedication to the challenge.

Adding extra colour to the competition, Team Mexico hosted a lively Mexican Fiesta, bringing everyone together to celebrate the spirit of the challenge.

Congratulations to all participants for taking part, supporting one another and contributing to another successful year of the Step Challenge.
