Shane Lee – Head of Client Accounting, has been part of MRS since 2023 and is based at our HQ in Adelaide.
Q: Tell us what your role entails?
As the Head of Client Accounting, it is my job to lead the Client Accounting team, ensuring the accurate and timely execution of the accounting functions across our Property Asset Management business. My role has a strong emphasis on delivering exceptional service through meticulous financial management and proactive communication, fostering strong relationships with our Property Asset Management team and clients alike.
Q: What do you find the most enjoyable aspect of your role?
I really enjoy the problem-solving aspects of my role and the variety of work I get to do given the wide range of assets we manage. No day is the same. I love being able to collaborate as a team, drawing on a wide range of experiences, enabling us to continually strive to be the best at what we do. But most importantly, I enjoy the social aspects of my role, being able to interact with colleagues and clients, and having a meaningful impact on others.
Q: Where is your favourite destination and why?
That’s simple – home. I’m very lucky to live in the Adelaide Hills on a large property and there is just no place like home. The views, the wildlife, the quiet, it’s my happy place.
Q. What was the last book you read?
I’m currently studying my CPA, so the last book I read isn’t very exciting to most people and was all about Strategic Management Accounting.
